The weekend-long event took place in the Math and Science Complex on Lees campus. The symposium welcomed over 50 guests from five different states including professors and students from the Lee campus and professors from other universities. The event was organized by Dr. Jason Ward, associate professor of history at Lee. The annual symposium invites Christian scholars to discuss faith and the liberal arts. This year focused on the common good, what it is, and how we can work to achieve it. The first evening was dedicated to a philosophical discussion of the definition and parameters of the common good, followed by a more practical discussion of application and vocation on Saturday morning, said officials. Each speaker was followed by a response, the purpose of which was to provide two scholarly perspectives of the issue at hand.
